Thea and Jeremy’s wedding day in St. John’s was the perfect mix of joy, love, and sparkle. On a beautiful September afternoon, their families and friends gathered for a heartfelt ceremony at the Emera Innovation Exchange on Signal Hill (the former Battery Hotel). With sweeping views of the city as their backdrop, Pastor Jaunty Aidamenbor led a ceremony that was both deeply spiritual and filled with laughter. From the very first moment, it was clear this day was going to be something special. Jeremy, a proud Burin Peninsula boy, had fallen for a city girl (I can relate) and their love story has been written in smiles and small moments ever since. Throughout the day, they were never far from each other, constantly laughing and holding hands, the kind of couple whose joy is absolutely contagious. Almost as contagious as Thea's beautiful laugh that was never far away.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the Capital Hotel to celebrate, and let me tell you... the dessert table stole the show. Thea, who works as a cake decorator at Sugar Mama's, baked not one but three wedding cakes, along with trays of cookies and treats she created with her mom the day before. It was a labor of love, and the results were incredible. My personal favorite? The jammy dodgers. Absolutely divine.
Of course, Thea’s style had its own moment in the spotlight. She shimmered in a Maggie Sottero gown that easily wins the award for sparkliest dress of the season. Paired with her radiant smile, she absolutely glowed from start to finish, and Jeremy couldn’t keep his eyes off her. Jeremy suited up to match and paired the look with a late-night cigar with his pals.
What truly made the day stand out, though, wasn’t just the stunning setting, the desserts, or even the fashion. It was the love that surrounded them. Every conversation with family and friends revealed just how adored these two are. Guests spoke with such warmth and appreciation, not just for the day itself, but for the kind, generous people Thea and Jeremy are.
These blogs have been getting a little longer lately with my remembering details that stick out to me, and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I love to debrief. I'm so grateful for the love and appreciation I receive from each and every couple I photograph and spending such an important day by their sides capturing moments that they might forget without a photograph is not something I take lightly.
