There is something truly magical about a wedding day where the universe (and perhaps a loved one looking down) seems to bend the weather just for two people. Kathryn and Brandon’s celebration held an extra special place in our hearts: it was our very first wedding of the month, right in the home stretch of leading up to our own August wedding. Capturing their love made us that much more excited to step into the same shoes and share in the magic of the day.

Kathryn and Brandon were married in Burin under a heavy canopy of rain, with the sound of water rushing outside as they promised their lives to each other. But right when it mattered most, the skies cleared and the sun broke through just for them. It was impossible not to feel the presence of Kathryn’s nan, who passed away just two weeks prior, sending a warm, golden blessing over their day.

Their love is the kind that balances perfectly: Kathryn brings a radiant, bubbly energy into every room, while Brandon is steady, gentle, and fiercely supportive. Watching Brandon slowly come out of his shell as the evening unfolded, always keeping an eye on his new wife and checking in on her, was such a sweet reflection of their bond.

From photos of cherished family and friends tucked into the decor, to heirloom jewelry passed down through generations, to subtle nods to their past travels (including a private bottle of wine set aside for the end of the night).
