Tessa & matt - Private cliffside elopement // NEWFOUNDLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Tess and Matt traveled all the way from Ottawa to Newfoundland looking for adventure—and they found it on the cliffs of St. John’s on a bright and sunny August day.
The two got ready together in their hotel room, keeping things laid-back and intimate, before heading out to Cuckolds Cove for their private ceremony. Overlooking the Atlantic with nothing but the sound of the waves and seabirds around us, they promised their lives to each other. Matt carried his vows in the same journal he once used to write daily notes to Tess while they were living apart, a perfect reminder of the way their love story has been built: steadfast, thoughtful, and deeply intentional. After their ceremony, we spent the afternoon exploring St. John’s—wandering along rugged coastlines, stealing kisses on jellybean row, and soaking in all the beauty this little corner of the world has to offer. One of my favourite details about these two? They’re a bit forgetful, which became clear when Tess’s bouquet kept ending up behind us wherever we went. It turned into a running joke that had us laughing all day.
While their families back in Ontario are surely counting the days until they can celebrate with them, Tess and Matt aren’t rushing home just yet. First, they’re setting off on a honeymoon adventure across Newfoundland, soaking in more cliffs, trails, and wild beauty hand in hand.
It was such a joy to witness their day, their laughter, and the quiet moments between them. Tess and Matt’s elopement is proof that love and adventure go hand in hand, and Newfoundland is the perfect backdrop for both.
