There are some wedding days that just feel like sunshine, and Maleka and Cameron’s was exactly that. On a bright August day in Burin, Newfoundland, the skies were clear, the air was warm, and everything about the day seemed to line up perfectly for these two best friends to promise forever.
The ceremony took place in the Parish Hall in Burin, where their sweet daughter stood proudly by their sides, making the moment feel even more special. From the way they looked at each other to the way they included Ella in their wedding party, it was so clear that family is at the heart of everything they do. After the “I do’s,” the celebration carried on to the Lions Club in Marystown... and if there’s one thing Maleka and Cameron know how to do, it’s throw a party. Guests laughed, danced, and toasted late into the evening. One of my favourite memories? Maleka and her dad serving guests jello shots out of a giant Rubbermaid tub, making sure everyone was included in the fun.
Beyond the laughter, music, and dancing, what stood out most was the kindness and thoughtfulness of not only Maleka and Cameron but also their families. They are the kind of people who make everyone around them feel welcome, appreciated, and loved. We were so touched to receive their thank-you cards (and treats!) during the wedding, a testament to the kind of generous, caring people they are, and to the families who raised them.
